Junior Researcher
Sofia Saraiva is a post-doc researcher, working in the PolySyc group since October 2018. She graduated in Genetic and biotechnology and obtained a master’s degree in Biotechnology for the health sciences. Initially, Sofia worked on the synthesis of biopolymers for applications in wound dressings. Then, her PhD work in Chemical Engineering, developed in the group between 2019-2024, was focused on the development of polymeric membranes for preventing tendon adhesions using PEAs based alpha amino acids (AAA-PEAs) and electrospinning technique. Now, her work continues to be focused on the AAA-PEAs but also in the development of water based emulsions for coatings in the automotive industry.
