Patrícia Pereira is a PhD researcher at the PolySyc group since September 2019. She concluded her MSc in Biochemistry in 2011 by University of Beira Interior, and obtained her PhD in Biochemistry from the same University (2016). During the PhD, Patrícia developed methodologies for the manufacturing of recombinant microRNAs to be applied in Alzheimer’s disease therapy. From 2016 to 2019, she was a post-doctoral fellow at ITQB (New University of Lisboa, Portugal) working in the field of RNA Biology, studying RNA metabolism through characterizing the enzymes that mediate its degradation in bacteria. Now, she is responsible for carrying out the biological characterization of new materials, which has allowed her to expand her knowledge and experience in cell biology and cell therapy.
