Patrícia Mendonça

Junior research associate

Patrícia completed her PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2015 at the University of Coimbra. The work was focused on atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) techniques and application on the design of polymer drugs. During both PhD and post-doc, she visited Professor Krzysztof Matyjaszewski´s lab, who is the inventor of ATRP, to conduct research activities. Currently, her research interests are focused on (i) design and synthesis of antimicrobial polymers; (ii) development of new reversible deactivation radical polymerization (RDRP) systems for the preparation of well-defined macromolecules and (iii) ATRP chemistry. She leads a small group of scientists inside PolySyc, including PhD students and researchers in the field of RDRP.
