Inês Escobar
PhD student
Inês Escobar is a PhD student, working in the PolySyc group since 2023. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of the University of Coimbra in 2019. In 2021, she obtained her Master’s degree in Chemistry. During her master’s studies, she developed new materials using cooking oil as a substitute for conventional plastics through polymerization. Since April 2022, Inês has been a Research Fellow in the Colloid Chemistry Group at the Department of Chemistry of University of Coimbra, where she continued to work with polymers. Now, her PhD work is focused on Tissue Engineering where she is developing dextran-based guide-tubes for peripheral nerve regeneration.
