Beatriz Rodrigues

Beatriz Rodrigues is a research fellow in PolySyc group since 2025. She holds a degree in Medicinal Chemistry (2021), and a Master’s degree in Applied Pharmacology (2023) from the University of Coimbra. She carried out her Master’s studies in the field of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s Disease. She gained relevant knowledge on the amyloid cascade, neuroinflammation, and oxidative stress, in particular on the Nrf2 and NF-kB signaling pathways, and worked with various cell cultures (microglia, macrophages, neurons and primary cells isolated from buffy coats of healthy donors) and animal models. In 2024, she was accredited by the DGAV to perform procedures on animals (FELASA B). Currently, her work aims at the development of new biopolymers for drug delivery purposes.
